Electrical Engineer – San Diego, CAAECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in San Diego, CA. The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team and support the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.Join a practice filled with professionals pioneering Energy Conservation and Zero Carbon initiatives, focusing on renewable energy projects for high-performance buildings. Contribute to decarbonization and electrification efforts while enjoying focused growth opportunities in sustainable practices.Job Summary / ResponsibilitiesElectrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Supports review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase.Prepares engineering related calculations and develops drawings and visual aids.Writes reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings.Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve the company's mission.Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for scope, quality and schedule.Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines.Supports on site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects.Develops designs within a BIM design environment.Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.Minimum RequirementsBA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE).Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects.4+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm.Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.Desire to be mentored by leadership.Experience with sustainable design.Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.Proficient in drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD.Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power.Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI32 or Elumtools.Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.Additional InformationThis position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future.Compensation$90,000 per year.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
