 Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support the design and development of electrical hardware for custom automated machinery and production systems. This role focuses on schematic design, panel layouts, electrical calculations, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical hardware for custom automation equipment
  • Size and specify control components, drives, and instrumentation
  • Perform electrical load calculations and circuit protection sizing
  • Determine proper wire sizing per applicable codes and standards
  • Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PDM systems
  • Prepare electrical release packages and manage drawing revisions
  • Support machine safety design and system interface requirements
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Participate in design reviews, installations, and service support
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 processes and documentation
  • Lead hardware engineering efforts on assigned projects when needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience in custom automation
  • Strong PLC/HMI integration experience
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and servo systems
  • Advanced experience with EPLAN P8 (2022 or newer)
  • AutoCAD experience for electrical drawing modifications
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical codes and safety standards
  • Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, and cGMP environments preferred
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel as project needs require
