Responsibilities and Tasks:
Design Engineering and technical coordination tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Design appropriate drawings for cost-effective substation layouts, grounding, lighting, cable plans, bill of materials, etc.
Review physical design drawing packages, perform electrical & mechanical calculations, and perform other engineering studies as required.
Have basic protection design knowledge to help review P&C schematic drawings in physical & electrical accuracy.
Coordinate cross functional teams including engineers, designers, field personnel, and external stakeholders.
Help schedule and coordinate activities of purchasing, drafting, and construction of substation equipment components.
Create, review, and manage project deliverables such as design packages, reports, calculations, vendor equipment drawings, and construction documentation.
Help facilitate client communication, project meetings, and status updates to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Support field activities including site assessments and data collection as needed.
Provide consulting services to other groups in matters pertaining to system protective device coordination and/or automation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering codes, company policies, applicable regulations, and customer standards.
Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve technical and operational problems effectively.
Promote collaboration, team cohesion, organization, and attention to detail in all project phases.


Requirements:

4-7 years of substation design engineering or power delivery engineering experience for transmission, and/or distribution systems (both is a plus)
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required
PE Electrical and Computer: Power Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Strong leadership and communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration
Solid understanding of substation design principles (physical, electrical, protection & control)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF software
Experience working with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, etc. is a plus
Strong focus on collaboration with team members and meticulous attention to detail
Although primarily office-based, the role may occasionally involve fieldwork
