• Requesting an Electrical Design Engineer for the Client’s Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC.   The nuclear industry is a key component that provides generation with no emissions and is vital to clean energy transformation.

• The individual will perform design engineering work for electrical projects within the engineering organization.
• Selected individuals will serve as the Lead Technical Engineer and/or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects and will support other project teams as needed.
• Responsibilities include developing design packages, preparing conceptual designs and specifications for bidding purposes, evaluating alternatives, providing technical support during implementation, developing setpoints, coordinating design efforts with selected vendors, architect-engineers, and designers, and conducting design package reviews.
• Expected design products include major electrical system replacements, instrument component upgrades, and control circuit modifications.
• The individual is expected to demonstrate sound technical judgment and provide technical guidance to the project team.
• This position will be filled commensurate with education and experience.

• Current/ past qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer under an INPO Accredited Program within the past five years.
• Individual is/was qualified as a Modification Engineer to work independently in the past five years.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent work experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks and subject to the site’s Fitness for Duty Program)
• Strong oral / written communication skills within a professional environment
• Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
• Must be able to work in a team environment

• Registration/Licensure as a Professional Engineer
• Electrical engineering experience at a Client’s Nuclear Plant
• Experience in the 10CFR50.59 with respect to designing modifications to a nuclear facility.
• Knowledge of Passport or Consolidated Asset Suite for design and work order development
