Electrical Design Engineer
The Electrical Design Engineer will support the development of advanced electrical systems and components for high‑performance vehicle programs. This is a hands‑on, collaborative role involving design work, prototyping, assembly trials, supplier coordination, and cross‑functional teamwork. Responsibilities include designing electrical components and subsystems, creating 3D/2D models, and developing wire harnesses and high‑voltage components.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical components, subsystems, wire harnesses, and high‑voltage systems
- Perform 3D/2D modeling and engineering calculations to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets
- Support prototype builds, assembly trials, and manufacturing activities
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineering teams throughout the development cycle
- Maintain BOMs, drawings, and engineering documentation; support DFM reviews
- Troubleshoot design and build issues, provide timely updates, and meet project deadlines
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings and contribute to technical problem‑solving
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of electrical design engineering experience (automotive, motorsports, or aerospace preferred)
- Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 or 3D Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Hands‑on experience with high‑voltage systems, wire harness design, and core engineering fundamentals
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, create BOMs, and perform tolerance stack‑ups
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Willingness to travel for vendor visits, testing, or track support
