About the Role

Join a leading national electrical contracting company and guide a portfolio of large, complex builds to successful completion. As the Electrical Construction Program Director, you set the pace for division profitability by coaching project teams, sharpening department workflows, and sustaining trusted customer partnerships—all while championing quality and continuous improvement.

A Day in the Life

Your morning starts by aligning project managers on technical priorities and schedule commitments. Midday, you’re reviewing forecasts and change orders, calibrating resources, and clearing obstacles. By afternoon, you’re validating client expectations, coordinating with third-party construction partners, and ensuring risks and wins are communicated across stakeholders.

What You’ll Lead

  • People Leadership: Mentor and grow project teams; direct work assignments; support hiring, promotions, and performance reviews.
  • Operational Control: Own technical and schedule objectives; manage procurement plans, contract obligations, personnel allocation, and capacity planning.
  • Financial & Contract Stewardship: Drive financial forecasting, conduct project reviews, oversee invoicing and change orders, and collaborate with legal counsel to resolve contract disputes.
  • Client & Partner Engagement: Validate customer expectations, manage third-party construction firms, and communicate risks and milestones with consistency.
  • Adaptive Delivery: Rebalance priorities, milestones, and resource loading as customer needs and availability evolve.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years leading project management in electrical construction, overseeing a sizable portfolio and team.
  • Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of electric power engineering, field construction management, scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
  • Leadership Profile: Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership strengths; proven at cultivating relationships that help win work.
  • Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.

How You’ll Elevate the Organization

By optimizing departmental workflows and instilling rigorous standards, you’ll ensure projects land on scope, schedule, and cost—while strengthening customer confidence and the division’s bottom line.
