Electrical Assembler

Purpose of Position: Reading and interpretation of schematics (blue prints) Installation of wire harnesses, radios, brake controllers, functional lighting, back up alarms, inverters, outlets, and other electrical components.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Electrical experience required
  • Automotive electrical installation preferred
  • Install electrical wiring systems and components on trucks
  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions
  • Use and conduct proper care of PPE
  • Read and interpret work orders
  • Use basic hand tools such as tape measure and specialty equipment
  • Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell)
  • Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in kaizen events
  • Willing to move to other work areas in order to support production needs. (Cross-train)
  • Testing of installed components
  • Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices
  • Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment
  • Maintain daily time records
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend required
• Basic computer usage knowledge desired
• Vocational Training in lieu of experience will be considered
• Ability to read tape measure, blue prints, and schematics desired
