The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will perform instrumentation activities pertaining to automation, reliability standards, inspection, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. The candidate is also tasked with maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing investigative tasks on PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems on the manufacturing floor.

  • Modifies siemens 505 & S7 PLC and Wonderware HMI's.
  • Selects, installs, configures and calibrates prox eyes, thermo couples, and other industrial sensors arrays.
  • Understands and follows all safety regulations, actively participates in plant safety programs, and tests equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Supports a positive team atmosphere.
  • Identifies parts needed for electrical maintenance and repair projects and obtains these parts from the parts room.
  • Transports parts and equipment between work projects in progress.
  • Uses electrical hand tools or voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices.
  • Performs electrical repairs on various types of electrical equipment per SOP's and PM's.
  • Bends, hangs and runs conduit where needed. Pulls electrical cable and wire in conduit. Transports and stacks conduit and electrical wire as needed.
  • Trains operators on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1-year of related work experience.
  • Functions well when working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
