The OpportunityOur USGO Heartland, Badger North Area team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Wisconsin to support our measurement and regulation facilities.We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation, & Controls Technician to join our Steven's Point Compressor Station, who is proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating natural gas measurement equipment, compressor station control systems, and other related facilities.This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent problem solving, communication, and decision-making skills.What you'll doInstall, commission, test, repair, and maintain compressor station, meter station, communication systems, and other facilities related to the pipeline systemOversee, direct, and perform tasks related to the installation, start up, and repair of measurement and regulation equipment, such as: various types of meters, recording gauges, flow computers, LCEM units, transmitters, relief valves, regulators, valve actuators, pneumatic and digital controllers, filtration devices, odorizers, and gas quality devices (chromatographs and gas samplers)Perform routine and major maintenance on natural gas driven compressor units and associated auxiliary equipmentTroubleshoot, operate, maintain, calibrate, and repair various types of electronic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipmentMaintain power, process controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), electric generation equipment, microwave multiplex equipment, and orifice metersAssemble, install, test, and maintain instrumentation, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatuses, and fixtures, using hand and power toolsDiagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problemConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, ensuring compliance with codesTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, frequency generators, and oscilloscopesReceive and maintain equipment documentation (blueprints, schematics, line diagrams, technical manuals, operation manuals) and serve as the facility technical resource in their review and usePerform diagnostic tests, accuracy tests, calibrations, and replacements of various measurement and regulation equipmentCompile, prepare, and maintain written records related to DOT auditable inspections, accuracy tests, calibrations, odorant tests, equipment change outs, relief valve tests, and gas quality analysis such as dewpoint levels, specific gravity, and gas samplesWork closely with field personnel to schedule and properly route gas in the event of pipeline right of way maintenance or an emergency repair to maintain delivery to internal and external customersLocate pipelines per One Call and perform valve maintenancePerform and witness hydrostatic tests that assure material integrity for operation and installation of facilitiesComplete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPOther tasks as requiredMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a related industryThorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practicesKnowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) proceduresBasic knowledge of engine mechanicsExperience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related softwarePreferred QualificationsAssociates degree to include courses in engine maintenance or electricity/electronicsExperience with Allen Bradley and/or Bristol controlsExperience with various types of gas measurement testing equipmentThorough understanding of the test equipment used to maintain control systemsExperience with PLC's, pneumatic and electronic valves, transmitters, switches andRegulatorsAbility to interpret technical reference documentsThis position requires candidate toHave and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving recordSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testingBe subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposesTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from homeBe subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures and cramped conditionsTC Energy is an equal opportunity employer and participates in the E-Verify program supervised by the US government.
