Location: Warsaw, Indiana (Onsite)
Duration: Open ended Contract
Job Overview:
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. This role will support a strong safety culture while partnering with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain high-pressure and low-pressure boilers used in EV production and facility operations.
• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state/local safety regulations.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHA).
• Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Deliver EHS and safety training programs to employees across the organization.
• Monitor workplace conditions and ensure proper PPE compliance.
• Maintain environmental and safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning.
• Track and report EHS performance metrics to leadership teams.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with 8+ years of experience.
OR
• Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
OR
• PhD with 3+ years of experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and industrial safety regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or high-risk operational environments.
• Hands-on experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Experience with risk assessments and hazard mitigation programs.
• Strong communication, training, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CSP, CIH, CHMM, or other EHS certifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards.
• Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting boiler operations and utilities is highly preferred.
