The EHS Specialist II in the Fulton, NY plant, plays a critical role in supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to maintain a safe and compliant work environment at the Fulton plant. This position focuses on implementing and sustaining EHS programs that meet federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The EHS Specialist II works closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure that safety standards are upheld, and environmental responsibilities are met.
A key responsibility of this role is managing hazardous and universal waste streams, including oils, coolants, and oil-contaminated water. The EHS Specialist II ensures proper storage, handling, and disposal of these materials in accordance with regulatory requirements. Accurate recordkeeping for controlled substances is essential to maintain compliance and support audits. This position also contributes to emergency preparedness by assisting in the development of response plans for spills and other incidents.
Beyond compliance, the EHS Specialist II is expected to engage in leadership development activities and promote proactive safety initiatives. By driving training programs, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Specialist helps create a safer workplace and supports the plant’s sustainability goals. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to protecting both employees and the environment.
