EHS Manager - Manufacturing Environment
Position Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all site-level environmental,health, and safety functions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and drive a proactive, safety-first culture across the facility.

The position operates within a broader manufacturing leadership structure and plays a critical role in aligning site-level safety strategy with enterprise initiatives, while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for environmental and safety compliance, providing guidance across all levels of the organization
  • Manage all environmental permitting and regulatory reporting requirements (air, stormwater, wastewater, waste management, etc.)
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to proactively identify risks and drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with plant leadership to embed safety into all operational processes and decision-making
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and improve site safety performance
  • Analyze incident and safety data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure timely, effective resolution to prevent recurrence
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure workforce understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirements
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, local authorities, etc.)
  • Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure adherence to site safety standards
  • Support capital and operational projects to ensure safety and environmental requirements are met
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including drills and site readiness
  • Drive employee engagement in safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability
Leadership Expectations

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification (CSP, CIH, or similar)
  • Experience managing environmental permits and regulatory reporting
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
  • Demonstrated success implementing EHS programs in a plant environment
  • Experience with safety management systems and reporting tools
  • Lean or Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher preferred)
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) a plus
