    OverviewThis is a site-level EHS leadership role at a specialty manufacturing operation where you'll partner directly with plant leadership to drive a strong “zero harm” culture and influence how the site operates day to day. The position blends hands-on safety leadership with environmental oversight, team development, and active engagement with employees, contractors, and external responders, with PSM experience and chemical manufacturing EHS experience highly desired. Ideal for an EHS leader who thrives in manufacturing environments and holds professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or REM.As a member of the Site Leadership Team, the position is directly responsible for how the site conducts its business in accordance with all corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and acts of law regarding environmentally sound, safe and healthy work environment for the employees of the site and the extended neighboring community.As the EH&S Manager you will:Direct the activities of the site environmental, health and safety group to coordinate those efforts toward a common goal of providing an environmentally sound, safe and healthy work environment for the Site employees, as well as neighboring community.Act as an advisor to the Site Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental compliance, health and safety, including but not limited to legal matters.Direct the implementation of federal, state, and local governmental policies and regulations in matters of environmental compliance, health and safety and assures compliance in all matters under his/her direction.Administer the site Environmental, Health & Safety policies, evaluates work, and makes recommendations to the Site Manager on hiring promotions, and salaries of the EHS Specialist under his / her direction.Be responsible for the preparation and timely submission of the environmental, health and safety expenses, staffing, and capital budgets. Ensures the expenditure is appropriate and properly documented and within budget or appropriate amounts.In conjunction with managers and supervisors of other site departments, assist the Site Manager in setting site policies and procedures and in operating the plant to safety and compliantly maximize profits.Perform as an active and engaged leader on the Site Leadership Team driving towards improved EHS performance and site culture. Be a representative of the “Zero Harm” program for the Site.Be responsible for coordinating site security needs and emergency response efforts.Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.Assist other employees in accomplishment of company goals.Participate in and completes company-required training programs.Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.Coordinate site emergency response and evacuation plans.EHS management and HS direct reports actively participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT).Note: This description reflects the responsibilities and qualifications at the time of posting and is subject to change by the employer.Salary and Benefits$115,000 - $140,000Benefits and RelocationEmployees receive a competitive benefits package that includes strong medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, annual bonus eligibility, generous paid time off, and comprehensive relocation support for eligible candidates.Job RequirementsQualifications:You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for the company in the United States.Minimum Qualifications:Preferred bachelor's degree in relevant EHS program with 5+ years of EHS experience or a minimum 9+ years EHS experience at a chemical manufacturing facility with leadership responsibilities.Skills and Knowledge:Must have a level of proficiency with internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.Strong oral, written, and presentation skills are a necessity.Must have high technical and analytical abilities to identify environmental, health and safety trends and to act to meet these requirements with minimum disruption and expense.Requires tact and diplomacy in dealing with government representatives, associates, contractors, customers and the public.Previous interactions with local emergency responders (Fire Department, Hazmat, etc.).Availability for periodic on-call duties.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications in one or more applicable areas of environmental, health, and safety (i.e., CIH, REM, CSP) are a plus.Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities are critical for job success.#J-18808-Ljbffr
