Build What Matters.Job SummaryAs the EHS Manager , you will ultimately be responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across CNS operations. You will coordinate safety initiatives, deliver employee training, and oversee compliance with client, company, and regulatory requirements while supporting field operations. As the EHS Manager, your customers are CNS leadership, employees, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)Administer and manage comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to promote safe work practices and regulatory complianceCoordinate EHS activities with CNS customers and support all safety initiatives across operationsPromote a positive safety culture centered on the Incident Free philosophyPlan, direct, and conduct periodic safety assessments of construction sites and office locationsDevelop, organize, and deliver HSE training programs including OSHA, confined space, trench and excavation safety, DOT compliance, First Aid, CPR, and competent person trainingConduct employee safety orientations and ongoing safety education programsMonitor subcontractor and sub-tier subcontractor compliance with applicable HSE requirementsLead and support incident investigations while ensuring consistent case management and corrective actionsTrain and advise employees regarding HSE regulations, risk assessments, and safe work practicesInterpret OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable safety regulations and communicate requirements throughout the organizationPrepare, review, and submit required HSE reports, performance metrics, and incident trend analysesFacilitate Safety Committee meetings and manage meeting documentation and action itemsMaintain employee training records and OSHA-required documentationRecommend corrective and disciplinary actions related to HSE violations when appropriateTravel domestically as business needs requireAdditional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needsRequired QualificationsEducation, Licensing, and CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's licenseOSHA 500 Certification preferredAssociate degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferredCertified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferredExperience5–10 years of experience in an EHS Manager or related safety leadership role2–3 years of experience delivering HSE training within the industrial construction industryMinimum of 3 years of underground utility construction experienceStrong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, EPA, DOT, and other applicable safety regulationsExperience with civil underground utility and/or outside plant (OSP) construction preferredSkills and AbilitiesStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levelsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions and implement corrective actionsAbility to interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPointAbility to work effectively in both office and active construction environmentsAbility to navigate stairs, ladders, rough terrain, confined spaces, and industrial work environmentsAbility to work overtime and weekends as business needs requireExperience with trench and excavation safety, shoring, confined space, traffic control, and DOT complianceAbility to manage multiple priorities while promoting a proactive safety culturePreferred QualificationsCertified Health and Safety Technician (CHST)Associate degree in Occupational Safety and HealthOSHA 500 CertificationExperience supporting telecommunications, utility, or industrial construction operationsPhysical RequirementsAbility to travel domestically as business needs requireAbility to conduct field safety inspections at active construction sitesAbility to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periodsAbility to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments under varying weather conditionsAbility to access confined spaces and active industrial or construction work areasAbility to work overtime and weekends as operational needs requireCongruex Culture & BenefitsCongruex's culture of safety and performance is built on the 4X Factor core values of Be Safe, Be Accountable, Be Respectful, and Earn Trust.
