The EHS Manager is responsible for managing and leading the complete Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for the Fremont, California facility. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state (Cal/OSHA), and local environmental and safety regulations while aligning with Saint-Gobain EHS standards, ISO 14001 requirements, and the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will manage two employees supporting Health and Environmental programs.
Must apply professional communication principles, safety standards, and analytical techniques. Investigate EH&S-related incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain knowledge of regulations. Contribute to hazard reviews and ensure compliance with SPCC Plan.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and initiatives.
+ Manage site EHS management systems and tools aligned with Saint-Gobain standards and ISO 14001.
+ Serve as site lead for the WCM Health & Safety Pillar and Crisis Management activities.
+ Ensure OSHA and Cal/OSHA compliance, audits, investigations, and reporting.
+ Act as site liaison for regulatory agencies.
+ Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
+ Perform and update risk assessments and mitigation plans.
+ Ensure employee and contractor EHS training compliance.
+ Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to ensure safe equipment and processes.
+ Lead safety committees and site-wide EHS engagement.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree required (Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field preferred).
+ Three to five years of EHS experience in manufacturing; California experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
Certain states require pay information to be included in job postings. The national base pay range for this position is $92,000 to $142,000 per year. The actual base salary offered will vary based on factors such as geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. The target bonus for this role is 12% of base salary, based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash compensation range (base salary plus annual bonus) for this position is $103,040 to $159,040 per year.
