In this role, you will partner closely with Production, Human Resources, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to identify risks, implement preventive solutions, and strengthen safety systems that support employee well-being, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can influence others, drive positive cultural change, and build sustainable programs that reduce risk and prevent incidents.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Champion a culture of safety through employee engagement, coaching, accountability, and recognition.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
  • Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Analyze safety metrics and trends to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, including LOTO, confined space, hot work, PPE, chemical safety, and equipment operation.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Human Resources to integrate safety into daily operations and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance requirements, maintain safety documentation, and oversee PPE and safety equipment programs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, insurance audits, and external safety assessments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Safety Team members while fostering accountability and professional growth.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety principles, OSHA regulations, risk management practices, and manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain a strong safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility, foster collaboration, and drive positive safety outcomes across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success partnering across departments to achieve safety and operational objectives.

Education | Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work history will be considered.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environments.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel fabrication, or similar industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising, coaching, mentoring, or leading teams and safety initiatives.
  • Proven success developing and improving safety programs, conducting training, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to leverage safety metrics and leading indicators to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • OSHA 30 certification required or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or similar credentials.
  • First Aid/CPR Instructor certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations or high-growth manufacturing environments.
