Position Summary
The EHS Consultant reports directly to the Site Head and provides support for all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions within the department. Responsibilities include coordinating training programs, supporting compliance initiatives, maintaining metrics and reporting, coordinating with vendors, and processing invoices. This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and support teams to help achieve the site’s EHS compliance and safety goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NJDEP, and MCUA requirements.
  • Coordinate waste disposal activities and maintain required documentation, including waste manifests.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Management on air permit and stormwater compliance activities.
  • Collect and maintain monthly production air permit data and support annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of EHS compliance training programs.
  • Coordinate environmental testing and monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate and conduct EHS inspections and audits.
  • Maintain environmental performance records, trend analysis, and compliance documentation.
  • Track EHS near misses and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Obtain and review purchase orders, process vendor invoices, and coordinate vendor activities.
  • Collect and maintain records related to EHS incidents, including OSHA 300 Logs and other required regulatory reporting.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related EHS experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NJDEP, EPA, and other applicable EHS regulations and standards.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
