Overview An international automotive parts manufacturer near Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a motivated EHS Assistant Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate has proven leadership and EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a competitive salary and outstanding benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.Responsibilities Assist EHS Manager in overseeing the EHS department and support supervisors in daily activitiesEnsure training materials, plans, and competency checks are in place for EHS associates and provide ongoing feedbackSupervise safety programs for all associates and ensure safety guidelines are followedAssist with OSHA compliance and ensure proper documentation is filedInvestigate safety incidents and report findings, tracking resolutions for known issuesAssist with development and implementation of EHS proceduresMaintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and ensure complianceAssist with disciplinary actions as neededManage scheduling including overtime and vacation for direct reportsEnsure a safe and clean working environmentPerform other tasks as assignedQualifications Bachelor or Associate degree in a related field; Environmental Health and Safety degree is ideal or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or industrial manufacturingExperience with ISO 14001 is strongly preferredPrior experience working with safety management and quality (root cause analysis)Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environmentMaintain all required records and documentationAbility to work responsibly, effectively, and independently when neededNote: This position includes a manufacturing and warehousing work environment.
