Eaton's Power Quality division is seeking an EHS Analyst to join our team. This position is based in Raleigh, NC and will support our Capital Plant Operations (CPO). This is an onsite role aligned to a day schedule.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Analyst provides environmental, health, safety and security support to the Raleigh Capital (CPO) site. This position is accountable for supporting EHS activities at site including: monitoring EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. This position is also responsible for maintaining site ISO/OSHA certification along with supporting the creation of strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site. This position is also responsible for supporting the MESH assessment program; driving incident/injury management, including root causes and corrective actions; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; tracking closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; administration of EHS specific training for the location; supporting actions during crises; site security, and influencing the creation of a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in local EHS focused teams and processes.

What you'll do:

  • Drive and promote zero incidents in Environmental, Health, and Safety culture throughout site.
  • Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program(s).
  • Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health and utilize the MESH tools to drive improvements.
  • Support the function in EHS data analysis, data management, reporting, and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.
  • Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
  • Support Environmental, Health, and Safety engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
  • Act as the Environmental Health & Safety Management Representative for all 3rd party certifications and manages the internal audit programs. Support Corporate Compliance Audit Program, including assisting locations to close audit findings, assessing appropriateness of corrective and preventive actions, etc.
  • Review site environmental permits and ensure terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensure required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agencies (e.g., air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits)
  • Champion the MESH MOC process, this will include mentoring employees who perform a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water.
  • Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes.
  • Actively investigate all accidents and near misses, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.
  • Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in Environmental, Health and Safety Program in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Relocation is not offered. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Raleigh, NC to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement

Preferred:

  • Bachelor''s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, or a related technical field
  • Experience in people management, either in project leadership, or leadership of people

Position Criteria:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Comprehension of EPA, OSHA, and other federal/state/local regulations
  • Adept at utilization of company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information
  • Ability to integrate EHS with other functions
  • Ability to act as an agent of change; effective in enabling and driving change
  • Delivering all communication with clarity, impact and passion and tailored to the audience
