About the service
North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence. The SEND family of services is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to be a SEND Casework Officer to join our growing service. You'll play a vital role in ensuring children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the right support, at the right time, in line with statutory duties and best practice.
About the role
Working within a locality-based team, you'll manage a caseload of Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and plans, acting as a key point of contact for families and professionals and championing co‑production every step of the way.
Key elements: -
Working autonomously, making informed decisions at all stages of the statutory process with support from your Locality EHC Casework Manager when needed, the North Yorkshire SEND team is also supported throughout the administration process of the statutory assessment by the Business admin team.
What we're looking for
We are looking to find the 'right' person who will become a valued part of our SEND family of services to help us take the next steps in our improvement journey for supporting children, young people and their families. We offer a supportive peer to peer induction programme and monthly CPD opportunities.
It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.
