Safety activities for the Redwood City siteServe as the site EHS subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all safety and environmental mattersDrive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, accountability, and employee engagementProvide clear direction, priorities, and support to plant personnel and EHS team membersSafety Programs & ComplianceMaintain and continuously improve site safety programs, policies, and proceduresUtilize existing proactive safety tools and implement improvements where neededCoordinate behavior‑based safety initiatives and ergonomic improvement activitiesEnsure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company EHS requirementsMonitor regulatory changes and assess operational impacts and compliance obligationsFacilitate required EHS training programs to ensure regulatory and company complianceEnvironmental ManagementManage environmental programs and processes related to:Hazardous and special waste managementWater discharge complianceAir permitting and environmental reportingEnsure all environmental permits, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations are maintained and currentCoordinate environmental inspections, audits, and corrective actions as requiredIncident Management & Risk ReductionManage incident reporting processes and ensure timely investigation and closure of corrective actionsParticipate in incident investigations and root cause analysis activitiesLead risk assessments and support mitigation planning for operational and process changesManage the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure risks are properly identified and controlledMaintain a strong floor presence as a coach, trainer, and support resource for employees and leadersTraining & Employee EngagementCoordinate and deliver EHS training programs across the facilityPartner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to drive awareness and accountabilitySupport employee engagement initiatives focused on safety and continuous improvementReinforce expectations and safe work practices through regular floor interaction and coachingDocumentation, Permits & Contractor ManagementManage EHS documentation, records retention, permits, and vendor contract administrationCoordinate issuance and tracking of permits and contractor‑related EHS requirementsIdentify when outside consultant support is needed and develop scopes of work as appropriateMaintain organized and compliant EHS reporting and record‑keeping systemsWorkers Compensation & Business SupportProvide guidance and support related to workers compensation cases as neededSupport operational and leadership teams in resolving EHS‑related concerns and risksAssist leadership in development and execution of site EHS goals and objectivesBudget & Team LeadershipManage annual EHS budget and monitor performance against department goalsLead and coordinate activities of EHS team members and supporting resourcesDrive accountability and alignment across the organization to support safe and compliant operationsQualifications And ExperienceBA or BS degree in Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental3+ years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systemsPrevious experience working in a manufacturing settingStrong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in the manufacturing settingAbility to influence prioritization of activities to maintain compliance and impact EH&S improvementAbility to appropriately interact with regulatory inspectors including accompaniment on inspections and follow‑up activities as requiredDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization and outside the organizationStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsStrong presentation and public speaking skillsExcellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint and other relevant systemsStrong sense of urgency in meeting internal and external customer needsForward‑looking action‑oriented team of compensation for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance.
