Join our team and be part of an organization that values teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to a sustainable future.Role SummaryThe Director Environmental Health, Safety & Compliance (EHS) is responsible for setting the strategic vision and company-wide execution of all environmental, health, safety, and regulatory programs. This position provides oversight for all EH&S initiatives across Corporate, Operations, Site Services, and Engineering functions, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including NJ, CA, MN, and MA.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Management & ComplianceLead the company's EH&S programs, including the Safety Committee, Safety Ambassador program and running monthly meetingsDevelop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and inspection programs across all areas of the companyMonitor compliance with company safety procedures and ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulationsMaintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure they are accessible when neededPromote EH&S awareness through regular communication and engagementInspections, Audits & Risk ManagementConduct facility inspections, audits, and on‑site reviews to identify safety, health, and environmental risksPrepare inspection reports and document findings with recommended corrective actionsPerform hazard and risk assessments and update policies or procedures as neededDevelop and implement strategies to identify, mitigate, and prevent hazardous conditionsMaintain and manage an environmental risk register, tracking compliance trends and identifying potential issues across sitesLead accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsOversee and track workers' compensation claimsManage vehicle accident reporting and claimsAnalyze incident trends to reduce future risk and improve overall safety performanceEnvironmental Compliance & ReportingPrepare, submit monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental reportsManage client and regulatory monitoring reports and ensure timely submissionMaintain OSHA 300 logs and U.S. Department of Labor statistical records across multiple sitesMonitor federal and state safety and environmental regulations and update company policies as neededTraining & DevelopmentDevelop, schedule, and deliver training on workplace safety, emergency procedures, and OSHA/EPA requirementsEnsure employees are properly trained on EH&S practices and regulatory standardsConstruction & Operational SupportManage and continuously improve the company's construction safety program, adapting to client requirements and regulationsProvide EH&S guidance and technical support for the design, construction, and operation of facilitiesConduct technical assistance visits and support site teams in resolving EH&S-related issuesTravelFrequently travel locally25% regional travelGeneral ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferredRelevant professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CSP strongly preferred; ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent also considered)Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in EH&S, risk management, and environmental complianceDemonstrated experience managing multi‑state or national EH&S programs in regulated industriesStrong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry & Construction, EPA, and state‑level environmental regulationsAbility to perform field‑based safety inspections, including use of personal protective equipment, climbing, walking uneven terrain, and accessing active work sitesExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeWhat We OfferTop‑Tier Benefits: We offer comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance to keep you and your family healthy.Employer‑Paid Basic Life Insurance: Your peace of mind matters, and we provide employer‑paid life insurance to protect you and your loved ones.Disability Coverage: With both short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, you can feel secure knowing you're supported during difficult times.Tuition Reimbursement: We are committed to helping you enhance your career.
