Schedule: Day Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Variable Scheduling & Shared Call Coverage
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Position Overview
A leading acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center in Alaska is seeking an experienced EEG Technician for a 13-week travel assignment within the Neuro Diagnostics department. This role supports both outpatient ambulatory EEG services and inpatient neurodiagnostic coverage, including participation in a shared on-call rotation.
The ideal candidate will have strong EEG experience, current REEGT certification, and the ability to work independently in both hospital and clinic settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced EEG studies for inpatient and outpatient populations
- Prepare patients for neurodiagnostic testing and explain procedures clearly
- Apply electrodes and maintain EEG equipment according to department protocols
- Monitor, recognize, and document seizure activity and abnormal EEG findings
- Accurately complete charting and documentation within Epic EMR
- Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Provide coverage for ambulatory EEG clinic operations during weekdays
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage for neurodiagnostic services
- Troubleshoot EEG equipment and maintain quality assurance standards
- Follow patient safety, infection control, and compliance guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of EEG Technician experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current REEGT certification required
- Acute care or hospital neurodiagnostic experience preferred
- Ability to participate in rotating call coverage
- Strong communication and patient care skills
