Job Overview
A leading healthcare facility in Alaska is seeking an experienced EEG Technician to join its Neurodiagnostics team on a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will perform EEG and related neurodiagnostic procedures while providing exceptional patient care in both hospital and outpatient settings. This position offers a consistent day-shift schedule with shared on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform EEG, ambulatory EEG, and related neurodiagnostic procedures in acute care and outpatient settings
- Prepare and educate patients prior to testing to ensure comfort and cooperation
- Monitor and record brain activity, recognizing normal and abnormal waveforms
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate EEG equipment according to safety standards
- Accurately document procedures and patient information in the electronic medical record system
- Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergencies during procedures
- Participate in shared on-call rotation, including occasional weekend coverage
- Collaborate with neurologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Neurodiagnostic or EEG training preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- REEGT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of EEG or neurodiagnostic experience preferred
- Strong understanding of neurophysiology, EEG instrumentation, and waveform interpretation
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative healthcare environment
- Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and participate in on-call rotation
