Job Summary

Professionally support the mission of San Joaquin County Office of Education in providing high-quality delivery of educational services to all students. Under the direction of a Program Administrator, provides interpreting, transliteration services that effectively, accurately, and impartially, both receptively and expressively, using any necessary specialized vocabulary that facilitates communication between deaf and/or hard of hearing DHH students and others, teachers, administrator, parents, students, counselors. To assist a teacher in providing instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students.

Qualifications

  1. Equivalent of the completion of the twelfth grade
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills at a level required for high school seniors
  3. RID Certification or equivalent in lieu of RID certification, an educational interpreter must have achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, the ESSE-IR, or the NADACCI assessment.
