General Education Paraeducator - Kindergarten

Title: General Education Paraeducator - Kindergarten

Work Year: 10-Month

Department: Elementary Schools

FLSA Status: Represented, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Classroom Teacher, in collaboration with Building Principal or designee

Hourly Rate: $19.37 pending union negotiations

Position Overview:

The General Education Paraeducator supports classroom instruction and school operations by assisting certified staff in maintaining a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Paraeducator works with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills, support student engagement, and assist with daily classroom and school activities.

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree, OR at least 60 college credits, OR
• High school diploma with successful completion of the ParaPathways (formerly ParaPro) Assessment required.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.

• Ability to support instructional activities under teacher direction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

• Ability to learn Microsoft Office and Google applications and district-specific software applications.
