NOTICE OF VACANCY
ABA Positions ~ 35 hours/week (full-time)
POSITION: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-full-time-35 hours per week
LOCATION: Southington Public Schools
SALARY: $19.43 per hour
$1.85 hourly rate adjustment for all hours worked and paid time off during the designated school year for the following programs:
Comprehensive Learning Center, Specialized Learning Center, Therapeutic Learning Center, STELLAR
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Physically able to shadow students and model skills in all learning environments, including gym and playgrounds.
- Implement discrete trial instruction designed by certified staff and BCBA.
- Implement behavior intervention plans designed by teacher and BCBA to reinforce appropriate behaviors.
- Collect and input data into database as directed by certified staff.
- Required to work for up to six weeks during the summer in extended school year programs when needed.
- Required to participate yearly in a training session on behavioral de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques. (This may include hours beyond the typical workday; additional compensation will be provided).
- Able to model skills including gross motor, fine motor, play and social skills.
- Required to participate in and be assessed on explicit training modules in applied behavioral analysis in the areas of academic, social, behavioral, and self-help skills as assigned by certified teaching staff (this may include hours beyond the typical workday. Additional renumeration at hourly rate will be provided in these cases).
- Effectively communicate with certified teaching staff and/or BCBA.
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of ABA training modules. Associate degree or higher is required.
