This is a 12-month staff position with 100% effort as the Coordinator of Therapeutic Horticulture at Wilmot Botanical Gardens. Duties will include the following program responsibilities. Create and lead Therapeutic Horticulture (TH) programming for diverse populations, recruit participants for TH programs, develop research protocol and collect data on select TH participant groups, write grants to support TH programming, document progress of TH participants in select groups, and promote the UF TH program through interviews, articles in trade publications, and presentations at meetings and conferences. Volunteer management responsibilities include: recruit master gardeners, students, and other volunteers to assist in the delivery of the TH programming, create and manage online TH training program for volunteers, manage and lead volunteers in working with program participants, and organize in-service training of volunteers. Greenhouse responsibilities include: manage 2700sqft greenhouse, purchase plants and supplies for greenhouse and TH program, train and manage work-study students and other volunteers working in the greenhouse, give TH presentations and lead tours for community groups. Additional duties include manage daily walk-in sales, organize and plan twice-yearly plant sales and recruit and manage sales volunteers. Classification Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:Create and lead Therapeutic Horticulture (TH) programming for diverse populations

Expected Salary:

$59,000 to $67,000

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:Master’s degree in horticulture or closely related plant science discipline
