Summary:

This position is a Masters prepared RN or nurse who has completed ½ of the requirements towards obtainment of a Master's degree. The nurse is responsible for consulting and collaborating with Clinical Practice and Advanced Education Specialist IIs and the manager of Clinical Education to evaluate clinical practice trends and develop education to impact patient outcomes within defined clinical areas at the Prosper campus. This RN collaborates with Quality and Risk, department leadership teams, and with shared governance councils to develop ongoing education and competency validation opportunities that promote excellent patient care and outcomes. This RN contributes to project and program management teams that are focused on education for quality improvement initiatives, risk reduction, patient safety initiatives, and the implementation of evidence-based practices at the bedside. This RN has outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills. This RN holds staff accountable while building and fostering relationships and promoting nursing professional development.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years pediatric clinical experience required with pediatric intensive care experience strongly preferred.
  • NICU Level III Experience required.
  • (2) years prior teaching experience, curriculum development experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (basic computer skills).
  • RN planner for continuing education credit strongly preferred
  • BSN required, Enrolled in Graduate Program for Degree in Nursing, Education, or related field with at least ½ of program requirements complete and must graduate within two (2) years of position start date.

Certification/Licensure:

  • BLS required.
  • PALS required (Instructor status strongly preferred),
  • Texas RN license
