Education Prep Cook - TERO Candidates Only Department: Education Program: Operations Reports to: Food Services Supervisor Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 Weeks Preference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638 Job Summary The Prep Cook is responsible for providing support to the Cook and Assistant Cooks by prepping and measuring ingredients needed for meal preparation, washing dishes, restocking ingredients and kitchen supplies, taking out the trash, and adhering to DEC and USDA guidelines. The candidate will also provide transportation for Tuen School students before school utilizing Tribal vehicles. Essential Functions - Measures and preps needed ingredients for meals - Washes dishes, sweeps, mops, cleans equipment (including the grease trap), takes out the garbage, and helps maintain a sanitized environment that meets health code standards - Restocks ingredients and kitchen supplies as needed - Supports in the preparation and the cooking of a variety of food following USDA-CACFP guidelines - Performs as a team member within the kitchen, and when sharing workspace with the other staff - Provide van service from established hubs to transport children to Tulen Charter School before school - Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.
