The Education Manager supports the implementation, coordination, and advancement of United Way of Tarrant County’s (UWTC) Education & Youth Opportunity strategies and initiatives. This role serves as a key operational and collaborative leader within UWTC’s cradle-to-career impact portfolio, helping drive alignment, execution, and partnership engagement across education, early learning, youth development, workforce readiness, and extended learning efforts.

Working closely with the Vice President of Education and Youth Opportunity and cross-sector partners, the Education Manager helps coordinate regional initiatives, facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, monitor progress toward shared outcomes, and support continuous improvement efforts that strengthen educational opportunity and long-term student success across Tarrant County.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Initiative Coordination & Program Management

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of education and youth opportunity initiatives aligned with UWTC strategic priorities.
  • Manage day-to-day operational coordination across multiple initiatives, including workplan tracking, partner communication, meeting coordination, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Serve as a liaison and relationship manager for community partners, school districts, nonprofit organizations, workforce partners, and collaborative stakeholders.
  • Assist with initiative implementation efforts focused on early childhood education, extended learning, college and career readiness, workforce pathways, literacy, youth opportunity, and family engagement.
  • Ensure initiatives remain aligned with organizational goals, community priorities, and collective impact strategies.
  • Support logistics, planning, and execution for trainings, convenings, workshops, and collaborative meetings.

 

Cross-System Collaboration & Partnership Engagement

  • Represent UWTC in regional and statewide education, workforce, youth development, and early learning collaboratives as assigned.
  • Participate in community workgroups, leadership teams, and cross-sector partnerships that advance educational and youth opportunity outcomes.
  • Support agenda development, meeting facilitation, follow-up communication, and tracking of commitments and action items across collaborative initiatives.
  • Foster alignment between external partnerships and UWTC’s internal strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, nonprofits, libraries, employers, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Support collective impact and systems-level coordination efforts designed to improve educational outcomes and reduce barriers for children, youth, and families.

 

Operational Execution & Strategic Support

  • Translate initiative goals into actionable workplans, implementation timelines, and measurable deliverables.
  • Maintain coordination across multiple partners and initiatives to ensure accountability, execution, and timely progress.
  • Monitor initiative implementation and identify potential risks, barriers, or gaps requiring escalation or strategic intervention.
  • Assist with budget tracking, reporting requirements, and operational oversight for assigned initiatives and partnerships.
  • Support preparation of presentations, briefings, reports, grant materials, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align initiative activities with broader organizational objectives and resource development efforts.

 

Data, Learning & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the collection, tracking, analysis, and synthesis of program and initiative data across education and youth opportunity efforts.
  • Assist with shared measurement, reporting, and evaluation activities that demonstrate impact and progress toward outcomes.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement across systems, partnerships, and initiatives.
  • Contribute to storytelling, impact communications, and strategic reporting in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Support continuous learning and improvement efforts by incorporating stakeholder feedback and data-informed practices into initiative implementation.

 

Internal Collaboration & Leadership Support

  • Work closely with Education & Youth Opportunity leadership to align initiative execution with strategic direction and organizational priorities.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration among Community Impact, Development, Communications, Research, and external partner teams.
  • Contribute to planning and coordination of strategic convenings, community engagement activities, and regional collaborative efforts.
  • Assist leadership with advancing cross-cutting education and workforce priorities throughout the community.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Education, Public Administration, Social Work, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in education, youth development, nonprofit management, collective impact, workforce development, or community engagement.
  • Experience coordinating multi-partner initiatives, collaborative projects, or cross-sector partnerships.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and operational coordination skills.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting collaborative initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Experience with data tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of education systems, early childhood initiatives, youth opportunity strategies, workforce pathways, or community-based learning preferred.
  • Commitment to equity-centered, community-informed, and collaborative approaches to educational opportunity and systems change.
