GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the Wyoming Department of Educations (WDE)s Special Education Programs divisions requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 2004 (IDEA 2004) in providing monitoring, technical assistance (TA) and professional development (PD) to district staff through the managing, planning, coordination, and evaluation of improvement activities and division initiatives which facilitate the improved academic and functional outcomes for students with disabilities.

Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to individuals with education, special education, and/or education leadership experiences.
Knowledge of data systems, assessment, special education, and professional development is also preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Education)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at an Education Program Specialist level.
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at an Education Program Specialist level.

FLSA: Exempt
Successful applicants must reside in Wyoming or maintain a primary residence within a 100-mile radius of Cheyenne for the duration of their employment with the Wyoming Department of Education
This position offers full-time telework, with occasional required in-office attendance
Applicants may be asked to provide transcripts of any relevant coursework at the time of the interview or hire
Travel is estimated to be 25%
A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation
