This position is contingent upon contract award and is in support of an active proposal effort.

ALEX - Alternative Experts is seeking experienced Editors at multiple levels (Editor, Senior Editor, Lead Editor) to support Joint Force Development programs within a DoD environment. This role supports the development, editing, and publication of doctrine and related materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across mission-critical documents.

Requirements

The Editor provides support including, but not limited to, the following:

• Editing and formatting documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensuring conformance with established style, grammar, and publication standards
• Supporting doctrine development and structured publishing processes
• Reviewing and refining technical, policy, and operational documents
• Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery

Senior/Lead Level Additional Responsibilities:

• Managing editorial workflows and production schedules
• Overseeing document quality and consistency across deliverables
• Supporting content management and publishing processes

Prefered Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD or federal government programs
• Familiarity with doctrine development and publishing processes
• Strong attention to detail and document control practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document formatting tools
• Experience with Adobe or other publishing/editing tools

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Editor: Relevant experience in editing/technical writing
• Senior Editor: 2+ years of experience at the Editor level
• Lead Editor: 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated leadership in editorial functions
• U.S. Citizenship Required due to federal contract. No visa sponsorship (OPT/CPT incluede).
