Edison Middle School is a diverse comprehensive middle school on the east side of Green Bay that serves 1100 students. The home of the Eagles prides itself in a strong school culture, AVID programming, and a student first approach. The building leadership team is invested in cycles of continuous improvement using a 100 day plan with review and improvement planning completed three times a year. The next leader at Edison must be committed to school culture, distributed leadership, AVID, and cycles of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Administrative License (K-12 Principal)
Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience
Additional qualifications and or experience may be required as determined by the Superintendent.

Supervises: Associate Principal(s),Teachers, Coaches, Paraprofessionals, Clerical, Shared supervision of staff within school
Position Purpose: Provides instructional leadership ensuring all students are college, career and community ready; manages the operations and resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment, manages, school operations within the budget, creates and sustains a school culture conducive to learning and staff professional development.
Essential Functions include:
Supervises and evaluates staff to ensure effective instructional practice that leads to high levels of student achievement.
Delegates responsibility to others within District policy, legal framework. 10. Participates in curriculum development at the district level and provides input for the adoption of courses of study, curriculum guides and textbooks.
Recommends employees for employment, promotion, transfer, demotion or dismissal.
Establishes annual goals with input from the supervisor.
Approves the master teaching schedule and special assignments.
Participates in principals'' meetings, and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
Provides for in-service education and staff professional growth.
Plans for and conducts faculty and department head meetings.
Reviews and approves lesson plans.
Prepares and submits the school''s budgetary requests and monitors the expenditures of school funds.
Maintains directly or through delegation school records, pupil accounting records, business and personnel records which are required by law, Board of Education policy and/or the District Administrator.
Provides for adequate inventories of property under his/her jurisdiction and for its security and accountability.
Supervises the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and non academic purposes, including summer school.
Arranges for and supervises substitute teachers.
Works directly with guidance to enhance individual student''s education and development.
Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary; according due process to the rights of students.
Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school sponsored activities, functions and co-curricular events.
Responds to the health and safety needs of students.
Maintains active relationships with students and parents.
Implements a communications and public relations program which provides information to and solicits input from the school community served.
Communicates directly or through delegation all actions of the Board of Education and/or the District Administrator.
Provides for the ongoing review, evaluation and development of rules, guidelines, procedures and practices consistent with the policies and decisions of the Board of Education and administrative directives.
Provides input for long-range planning in all areas of school operation and, also, timelines for implementation of those plans.
Keeps informed of developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals, maintaining membership in professional organizations, and enrollment in graduate education courses.
