EDI Analyst
Contract (6 Months + Possible extension)

Pay Rate: $40-45 an hour on W2 (DOE)
The EDI Analyst is responsible for supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations, production support, data analysis, testing, and technical documentation. This role partners with business and technical teams to troubleshoot EDI transactions, manage trading partner integrations, perform quality assurance activities, and ensure accurate data exchange across systems.
Key Responsibilities:
EDI Production Support
- Monitor and support EDI production cycles, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
- Research, analyze, and resolve EDI production issues and processing errors.
- Coordinate issue resolution with internal teams, trading partners, and external vendors.
- Analyze and map data between source and target systems.
- Develop business requirements, processing specifications, and technical documentation.
- Create and maintain SQL queries to support production analysis and troubleshooting.
- Utilize Splunk, Application Insights, and other monitoring tools to investigate processing issues.
- Provide incident management, escalation, and stakeholder communication for production-related issues.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data.
- Create and process test files for EDI transactions.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Document test results, defects, and issue resolutions.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.
- Assist in defect triage, root cause analysis, and validation of fixes.
- Monitor traceability between business requirements and test execution.
- Participate in defect review meetings and communicate testing outcomes.
- Develop SQL queries to validate test results and generate test data.
Technical Analysis & Documentation
- Conduct technical and data analysis to support EDI trading partner implementations.
- Create mapping specifications and documentation for data transformation processes.
- Develop functional specifications, technical specifications, process flows, and related documentation.
- Research application and procedural issues and recommend process improvements.
- Analyze system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling constraints to support enhancement requests.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions using SQL, ETL processes, APIs, and integration technologies.
- Maintain operational procedures and disaster recovery documentation.
- Support cloud-based environments including AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
Healthcare EDI Support
Support healthcare EDI transactions including:
270/271 Eligibility
834 Enrollment
835 Claims Payment
837 Claims
Interpret and apply HIPAA, TR3, CAQH CORE.
Collaborate with trading partners to ensure compliance with healthcare EDI requirements.
Project Support
- Participate in small to large-scale implementation and enhancement projects.
- Apply project management methodologies and effective time management practices.
- Create project status reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Manage and prioritize work items in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of EDI experience supporting healthcare transactions.
- Experience with healthcare EDI transactions including 270/271, 834, 835, and 837.
- Experience with data analysis, data integration, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production systems and resolving application issues.
- Hands-on experience with QNXT is required.
- Experience with Edifecs EDI platform strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL querying and database analysis skills.
- Experience with data mapping and EDI translation processes.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.
- Experience with Splunk and Application Insights.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and system integrations.
- Understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Preferred Knowledge:
- HIPAA EDI standards and healthcare payer processes.
- Database management and data integration concepts.
- Systems analysis, workflow design, and technical documentation best practices.
