Role Summary
This contractor will serve as a hands-on EDI/API integration specialist, backfilling operational responsibilities on the Systems Digitalization team while a full-time SME focuses on SAP ERP and SAP Business Network (SBN) implementation.
The role is critical to maintaining our existing supplier integration network while enabling future growth across Direct Ship and PDC operations. The contractor will work directly with 3,000+ suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to onboard suppliers, resolve integration issues, and ensure reliable electronic transaction flow.
Key Responsibilities
• Own day-to-day EDI/API operations supporting our supplier network
• Troubleshoot end-to-end integration issues across:
o Our SAP systems
o T-Systems (EDI VAN)
o Supplier VAN providers
o Supplier systems and processes
• Lead supplier onboarding for EDI and API integrations, including data collection, validation, and coordination
• Guide suppliers through root cause analysis using structured debugging approaches (supplier → VAN → middleware → SAP)
• Partner with IT and external vendors on configuration, issue resolution, and enhancements
• Support API certificate management and technical access requirements
• Participate in supplier calls as a technical SME and advisor
• Independently manage multiple issues and priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience with EDI transactions (e.g. 830, 850, 855, 856, 862, 997)
• Familiarity with EDI VANs and B2B integration models
• Working knowledge of SAP (ECC and/or S/4HANA) in a supply chain or procurement context
• Experience supporting supplier onboarding and external integrations
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across multiple systems and organizations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with suppliers and non-technical stakeholders
