    About The Ranger Group

At The Ranger Group, we connect top-tier talent with industry-leading projects. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented PCB Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our board layouts, taking ownership of the design process from schematic handoff to final manufacturing documentation.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a specialist who loves living in the layout environment. This role is highly focused, with 90% of your time dedicated to hands-on PCB layout and 10% focused on post-design processing and documentation. If you are highly proficient in Mentor Expedition and thrive in a specialized, layout-intensive role, we want to talk to you.

    Key Responsibilities

    • PCB Layout (90%): Lead the physical layout of complex printed circuit boards using Mentor Expedition. Route high-speed, multi-layer, and high-density interconnect (HDI) boards according to electrical and mechanical constraints.

    • Post-Design Processing & Documentation (10%): Generate complete manufacturing release packages, including Gerber files, drill charts, assembly drawings, and BOMs.

    • Conduct design rule checks (DRC) and resolve layout errors prior to release.

    • Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure layout meets all design, thermal, and physical specifications.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of active, professional PCB layout experience.

    • Software Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in Mentor Expedition (this is a hard requirement for this role).

    • Compliance: Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be a US Person (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident).

    • Solid understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes (DFM/DFA).

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
