JOB GOAL:

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days), plus a benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD's salary placement guidelines. FLSA: EXEMPT.
TEACHER SALARY SCHEDULE
NOTE: The successful candidate must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development through East Initiative and Magnet Requirements, and to continue throughout the school year, both on and off contract times, when requested by the Administration. Appropriate compensation will be provided in accordance with the compensation guidelines for licensed personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Arkansas certification requirements in computer science or vocational education preferred.
- Competent user of Windows-based computer applications.
- Creative, willing to attempt new tasks, experiment, and ability to tolerate ambiguity.
- Must be energetic.
- Ability to serve as facilitator for groups of students exercising substantial responsibility for their own learning.
- Must be a good questioner as facilitator of learning.
- Willingness and ability to work with local businesses and governments to initiate project-based learning activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. - Planning and Preparation: Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, demonstrating pedagogy, knowledge of students, instructional goals, knowledge of resources, coherent instruction, and assessing student learning.
- Classroom Environment: Establishes a culture of learning by managing classroom procedures and student behavior and organizing physical space. Applies appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary
- Instruction: Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved - communicating with students, using questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, using assessment in instruction, and utilizing technology. Effectively infuses technology into instructional activities and the overall learning experiences.
- Professional Responsibilities: Develops and adheres to professional responsibilities - reflecting on teaching, maintaining accurate records, communication with families, contributing to the assigned School and the District at large, growing and developing professionally, showing professionalism, using data to inform instruction.
- In-service addressing transition to a facilitator of learning by motivating students to learn and to solve problems with the aid of technology will be provided.
- Summer training required. In-service to aid in implementing project-based learning will be provided.
- Technical training in computer-aided design, design engineering, architecture, visualization, and geo-processing will be provided.
