Role Overview

govSlackers is seeking a highly experienced Principal Slack Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale Slack and AI-enabled solutions across our Public Sector clients.

This is a technical leadership role responsible for shaping solution architecture, guiding complex implementations, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior government stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines deep Slack platform expertise, enterprise architecture experience, a strong understanding of public sector environments and compliance requirements, and familiarity with emerging AI technologies and their application in enterprise collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise Slack environments, including Slack Enterprise Grid and GovSlack deployments

• Define scalable architectures for multi-workspace strategies, governance models, and secure collaboration frameworks

• Architect integrations across systems (e.g., Microsoft 365 Suite, Salesforce, ServiceNow, custom APIs, data platforms, SQL)

• Design and oversee development of custom Slack apps, bots, and AI-driven workflows.

Public Sector & Compliance Expertise

• Architect solutions aligned with FedRAMP, DoD, and government security requirements and infrastructure

• Guide clients on secure implementation of GovSlack environments and cross-agency collaboration

• Ensure solutions meet compliance, data governance, and operational requirements

Client Advisory & Thought Leadership

• Serve as a senior technical advisor to government executives and program leaders

• Translate mission needs into technical solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and service delivery

• Lead workshops, architecture reviews, and executive briefings

• Contribute to thought leadership around modern government collaboration, AI, and digital transformation

Delivery Oversight & Mentorship

• Partner with Program Managers and delivery teams to ensure successful execution of complex engagements

• Provide technical oversight across multiple projects, ensuring quality and consistency

• Mentor engineers, architects, and consultants on Slack best practices and emerging technologies

Innovation & Platform Strategy

• Drive innovation in AI enablement, automation, and digital HQ strategies within Slack

• Define reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices for govSlackers solutions

• Stay ahead of emerging capabilities across Slack, AI, and enterprise collaboration platforms

Qualifications

Required

• 8–12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or platform engineering

• Deep expertise with Slack (Enterprise Grid, GovSlack, Slack APIs, Deno, development platform)

• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale collaboration platforms and integrations

• Strong understanding of public sector environments, compliance, and security frameworks

• Experience leading technical teams and advising executive stakeholders

Technical Skills

• Slack platform architecture, administration, and API ecosystem

• Experience with workflow automation, integrations, and microservices architectures

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and similar enterprise platforms

• Experience with AI/ML integrations, conversational interfaces, or autonomous agents

• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)

• Must-have proficiency with AI tools for development (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and for aggregating information, speeding up delivery, and solutioning (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Slackbot).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal agencies or GovSlack implementations

• Background in DevOps, platform engineering, or enterprise integration

• Certifications in Slack (Administrator, Consultant and Developer), AWS/Azure, or enterprise architecture frameworks

• Experience building or scaling digital collaboration strategies at enterprise level
