Building on our past. You will be responsible for:
Leading the planning and execution of early works construction scopes including gravel sourcing, access roads, construction pads, staging areas, and temporary infrastructure.
Managing field construction activities in remote and environmentally sensitive regions, ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with project standards.
Coordinating closely with engineering teams to translate design packages into executable field construction plans.
Overseeing contractor selection, mobilization, and performance for early works construction scopes.
Managing field logistics including equipment mobilization, materials staging, and workforce planning in remote environments.
Ensuring gravel development, extraction, and placement activities meet engineering specifications and environmental permit conditions.
Supervising road construction activities including grading, drainage installation, subgrade preparation, and surface stabilization.
Overseeing site preparation and pad development to support future construction phases and facility installations.
Monitoring schedule performance and implementing corrective actions to maintain early works milestones.
Coordinating with environmental and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with permits, mitigation requirements, and environmental management plans.
Supporting project controls processes including cost tracking, schedule updates, and construction progress reporting.
Maintaining strong collaboration with project management, procurement, logistics, and stakeholder engagement teams.
Establishing a culture of safety, accountability, and field execution excellence among contractors and site teams.
You bring deep construction experience in remote and cold-region environments and understand the unique challenges associated with early infrastructure development in northern climates.
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent field experience.
15+ years of construction experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, or resource development projects.
Demonstrated experience managing early works construction activities including gravel development, access roads, and construction pad preparation.
Direct experience working on projects in Alaska or other northern or Arctic environments.
Strong knowledge of gravel sourcing, borrow pit development, haul road construction, and site preparation techniques used in cold-region construction.
Experience managing large earthworks scopes including grading, drainage, and ground stabilization.
A practical understanding of permafrost conditions, seasonal construction constraints, and cold-region geotechnical considerations.
Experience managing contractors performing heavy civil and earthworks construction activities.
Familiarity with environmental permitting and compliance requirements associated with gravel extraction and land disturbance.
Proven ability to lead field teams in remote work environments while maintaining strong safety performance.
Strong coordination skills with engineering, logistics, environmental, and project controls teams.
The ability to anticipate field challenges and implement practical solutions that maintain schedule and safety performance.
