Job Description

This full-time position provides programmatic support services to the Early College office. The position will provide direct assistance to students seeking to earn Associate Degrees, Uniform Certificate in General Studies (UCGS), and other certificates concurrent with high school graduation. The position requires outreach to all assigned high schools and homeschools in the service region, including collaboration with marketing to determine the best use of resources for outreach. Works with other staff to ensure consistency in services. Tracks all students to certificate/degree/credential attainment using SIS and Navigate and maintains record for each assigned student. Serves as team lead for Career Coaches in assigned high schools.

The hiring range for this position is $44,192.00-$57,933.00. Salary will be commensurate with competencies and experience. The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. KSA's/Required Qualifications

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of higher education, K-12 education, enrollment management, advising, student services, or dual enrollment operations or equivalent.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills:
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Professional-Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, or willingness to learn
  • Ability to present information in individual and group settings
Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and advise a diverse population of students or similar role.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Demonstrated proficiency of oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience working with HS and/or College populations in an advising capacity or equivalent
  • Some College/Post-secondary Experience
  • Experience at Community College or in high school dual enrollment programs
  • Experience conducting, developing, or coordinating training programs or equivalent
