Early Childhood Behavior Assistant

We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Behavior Assistant to join our Junior Explorers preschool team, working with 3-5 year olds for the 2026-2027 school year! In this role, you'll work one-on-one with a child who needs extra support to engage in daily routines and activities. You'll help create a positive, inclusive classroom experience that allows every child to thrive.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and is interested in early childhood education, behavioral support, or special education.

Your Role Will Include:

• Provide one-on-one support to a student identified as having difficulty participating in daily activities.
• Assist the student with supervision during transitions, large and small group activities, and unstructured play.
• Model appropriate intervention strategies and reinforce positive behavior and social skills.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and classroom team to ensure the safety and success of all children.
• Assist with creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for all children.

Qualifications:

• Background in early childhood or classroom support. (Preferred)
• Experience working with children with special needs or behavior challenges.
• Experience supporting student instruction in the classroom. (Preferred)
• Proven positive human relations skills with adults and students.
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and work as a team member and take initiative.
• Evidence of a friendly, outgoing, patient, and compassionate personality.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, punctuality, and responsibility.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting at $22.60 per hour.
• Medical and dental benefits eligible.

Location & Shift Times:

• Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC).
• Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Start date August 24, 2026.
