Overview Job DescriptionThe Opportunity: WSP is initiating a search for an Early Career Structural Engineer to work out of our Boston, MA or North Providence, RI office. The successful candidate will have the following key attributes:Passion for structures and architectureExcellent communications skillsDemonstrated teamwork abilitiesCandidates can expect advanced training in structural design and digital design technology; and participation with colleagues around the world in practice area networks and other forums of learning and collaboration.Your Impact Perform structural design of new buildings and restoration of existing buildings throughout the United StatesAnalyze and design superstructures and foundations in timber, concrete, steel, and masonryUtilize latest technology and digital tools for designComplete training on assigned tasksExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experienceExcellent research skills with analytical mindsetFamiliarity with process and concepts for design/buildFamiliarity with relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirementsCompetent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audienceProficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environmentAbility to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectivesExperience with Building Information Modeling software, such as Autodesk RevitExperience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
