Job Title: Engineering Technician - Chassis Dynamometer OperatorJob Description

Join our Dynamic Performance group within the Chassis Division as an Engineering Technician, specializing in operating a dedicated chassis dynamometer facility. This role involves supporting vehicle performance testing and development activities, including acceleration performance, aerodynamics, thermal management, wind tunnel testing, and more. Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure successful vehicle development and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage a dedicated chassis dynamometer facility.
  • Program test modes and execute vehicle testing procedures.
  • Operate vehicles during testing activities.
  • Monitor vehicle performance, safety systems, and test conditions.
  • Collect, monitor, and validate vehicle data throughout testing.
  • Support engineers and Principal Investigators in executing test plans.
  • Troubleshoot testing, vehicle, or facility-related issues.
  • Perform facility inspections and ensure equipment readiness.
  • Install sensors and instrumentation on test vehicles.
  • Support vehicle assembly, disassembly, and preparation activities.
  • Assist with vehicle instrumentation, wiring, and data acquisition setup.
  • Maintain a safe testing environment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineers and project teams simultaneously.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with dynamometer operations.
  • Automotive troubleshooting expertise.
  • Proficiency in electrical assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment

The role is based in a dedicated chassis dynamometer facility, requiring individuals who are comfortable spending most of their day in this environment. This is a Contract position based out of Raymond, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
