Position Summary:

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in the following specialties: Vascular Technology, Adult Echocardiography, for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.

  • Has detailed knowledge of three dimensional spatial and cross-sectional anatomy and of common physiological and pathological processes.
  • Understands the physics of diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Assists physicians in biopsies and other invasive procedures.
  • Performs and assists with quality control procedures and maintains appropriate records.

Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

RVT or RVS

Registered Vascular Technologist OR Registered Vascular Specialist

Comments

RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), AND RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) OR RVS Registered Vascular Specialist, maintain active registry status by obtaining 30 CME's every three years and required to obtain registry status within 12 months of eligibility.
