We are looking for a warm, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional with strong “life coach” qualities to support a young woman with Autism in her home and community. This is a relationship-based role focused on encouragement, confidence-building, social connection, and helping her live a joyful and meaningful life.
She is creative, active, and fun-loving, with interests that include dance, fashion, baking and decorating cupcakes, crafts, soccer, pickleball, basketball (“shooting hoops”), swimming, card games, board games like Uno and Monopoly, computer games, theater, and all things girly — especially Disney Princesses. She does best with staff who are playful, engaging, patient, and genuinely enjoy participating alongside her.
This position is part-time, averaging approximately 12 hours per week.
What This Role Looks Like
Provide person-centered support in the home and community
Build a positive, encouraging relationship while supporting independence and confidence
Engage in preferred activities including dance, crafts, baking, games, sports, and community outings
Help introduce new experiences and activities connected to her interests
Support emotional regulation and coping with anxiety
Encourage communication, social connection, and meaningful routines
Be a motivating, supportive presence rather than simply supervising
Ideal Candidate
Naturally positive, patient, kind, and enthusiastic
Has “life coach” energy — encouraging, engaging, motivating, and creative
Enjoys being active, playful, and interactive
Comfortable dancing, participating in activities, and spending most time in the home or dance studio environment
Able to support someone who experiences anxiety and occasional difficulty with conversation
Experience supporting individuals with Autism or anxiety preferred
Behavior support experience is a plus
Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented
If you are someone who enjoys connecting with others, bringing positive energy, and helping someone build confidence while having fun, we would love to hear from you.
