    Description

    • JOB SUMMARY

    The Stacker Operator in the Asitrade Department is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the Stacker equipment on the Asitrade line at established rates and continuously monitoring machine performance. The Stacker Operator also operates the Asitrade line specific Palletizer. The Stacker Operator performs activities associated set up and changeover, quality, housekeeping and sanitation

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES

    • Run Stacker at established production rate to stack sheets according to Manufacturing Order and Master Product Specifications Sheet
    • Continuously monitor Stacker machine performance and control Stacker machine operation and speed
    • Use the Stacker control panel to run the Stacker and to perform machine set up, start up, operation, and shut down tasks
    • Use the line specific Palletizer control panel to run the Palletizer to supply the Stacker machine with pallets and to perform Palletizer set up, start up, operation, and shut down tasks
    • Troubleshoot machine faults on the Stacker/ Palletizer control panels to make machine specific adjustments, clear jams, and return machines to production ready running condition
    • Perform specific equipment operation inspections (machine guards, air nozzles, belts, wheels, side tampers, rollers, sensors) to identify and resolve issues that will prevent the Stacker from operating safely and efficiently
    • Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and use Warehouse Management System to generate a label that corresponds to the item
    • Perform quality inspections sheets that include visual inspections of the individual sheets/stacked sheets and temperature reading of the stacked sheets
    • Make necessary adjustments at the Stacker to resolve product stacking issues.
    • Dispose of scrap following department disposal procedures for product that does not meet product quality standards (re-stack procedure, quality hold procedure, waste removal procedure)
    • Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation
    • Communicate Stacker/ Palletizer machine malfunctions to the Supervisor to immediately resolve downtime issues
    • Communicate line issues with the Laminator to resolve line issues and restore production
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled equipment/ machine cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
    • Perform daily housekeeping activities and perform Stacker sanitation as scheduled
    • Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, LOTO, HACCP, and JSA regulations
    • Train other Asitrade Stacker Operators as required
    • Responsible for ensuring, where applicable, the product safety, quality, regulatory compliance and legality of all products produced and sold

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school preferred
    • Experience: Equivalent machine operating experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment using an electronic control panel to operate high speed equipment
    • Certifications/ Licenses:
    • Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    OTHER: Knowledge of machine operation; basic hand tools, and electronic and manual machine controls to operate equipment. Ability to use basic hand tools.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and quality check lists. Ability to communicate production issues to supervisors and others in work area.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematics (i.e. counting, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to use and read a tape measure. Ability to use and read a moisture meter. Ability to perform calculations for measuring and calculating amounts

    • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Working Environment: Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
