Job Summary:
Responsible for developing Treatment Plans for inmates incarcerated 30 days or more. Provide therapeutic opportunities, including group and individual counseling, for both mental health and drug and alcohol clients. Facilitate the treatment library.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement drug and alcohol therapeutic treatment programs.
- Develop and implement mental health therapeutic treatment programs.
- Conduct appropriate screening tools on new inmates and develop individualized treatment plans. Conduct 90-day treatment plan follow-ups on inmates that remain incarcerated.
- Refer and coordinate appropriate services in the community for inmates pending release and coordinate reentry plans with probation, community case managers, etc.
- Access funding resources for inmates through public and private resources.
- Maintain established protocols for client confidentiality.
- Maintain statistics related to job duties and outcomes and create monthly and annual reports.
- Fulfill all training requirements for licensure and a minimum of 40 hours of training annually.
- Assume duties of other case managers as needed, including assistance with classification and attorney calls.
- Assist with management of the treatment library.
- Liaison with the courts and community agencies.
- Assist wherever needed/directed, respond as required during emergencies.
- Oversee interns as needed.
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
Education:
- Must be and maintain a LCSW or LPC. Will consider LAPC or LSW pursuing their clinical hours.
- Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field. Appropriate Master’s Degree for licensure.
- Employee must successfully complete the Cumberland County Prison’s Basic Training Academy.
Work Experience:
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in social work or counseling for drug and alcohol, mental health, or related fields with a preference for justice-involved clients or a criminal justice or correctional setting.
