Klauer Manufacturing, a trusted name in high-quality building products for over 150 years, is growing in the southern region with our new facility in Tomball, Texas. As we expand, we are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Driver to support both transportation and material flow on the shop floor.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for safely operating a Class B commercial vehicle to transport materials and finished goods while also supporting production, warehouse, and shipping operations when not on the road. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining product quality, and supporting efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Driving
- Safely operate a Class B commercial vehicle to transport materials to designated locations in compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan routes and deliver products efficiently using knowledge of local and regional roadways
- Maintain accurate daily logs, delivery records, and receipts in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Maintain regular communication with supervisor regarding delivery and pickup instructions
- Inspect vehicle before and after trips (tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc.)
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and binders to ensure safe transport
- Perform minor maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed
Loading, Unloading & Material Handling
- Load and unload trucks, including staging and securing materials for delivery
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Transfer raw materials and finished goods between production and warehouse areas
- Prepare and wrap finished products for shipment
- Verify shipments for accuracy and completeness
Production & Facility Support
- Assist in production operations, including feeding materials into machines or supporting machine operators
- Inspect products and materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Complete safety checks and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain a valid Class B CDL (air brake endorsement preferred/required based on equipment)
- Successfully pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Adhere to PPE requirements in both driving and plant environments
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
- Previous delivery or industrial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment (or willingness to be trained)
- Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail
- Team-oriented with the ability to support multiple functions
Physical Demands
- Medium work: exerting 20–50 pounds occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously
