Overview of the Malden Public Schools

The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Maldens student body comprises approximately 6800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. We have 1 early learning center, 5 K-8 schools, and 1 high school. Summary

This position is responsible for picking up and delivering product to and from all schools within the district in a safe and neat manner, ensuring that product is maintained properly.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties

• Maintain a clean and valid drivers license. • All maintenance of vehicle needs to be reported to management. • Drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading. • Loading and unloading product in a safe and neat manner to make sure goods are correctly stowed. • Communicate with the office. • Deliver and unload goods at required sites. • Obtain a receipt for goods delivered. • Vehicle check must be done daily. • Vehicle report must be completed weekly. • Hand in all gas receipts and cards upon getting gas. • Must maintain an odometer log daily. • Responsible for daily cleaning of the vehicle. • No other passengers allowed in the vehicle unless authorized by the manager. • Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations. • Must adhere to all school district policies, which include but are not limited to time of delivery, parking designated delivery areas, and designated driving areas.

Management Company and the City of Malden

Malden Public Schools are not responsible for any traffic violations while you are driving the company vehicle and are on company time. If you receive a traffic violation, you will be responsible for the ticket. Must adhere to all management company policies. Deliver and set up all catering. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. • Must complete all management company and government required training as necessary. • Certifications: Clean, unblemished drivers license required.

Other Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

• Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments. • 1 year driving experience in a professional role required. • Able to access and communicate via email. • Always present a positive and professional image.

• Sit, walk, talk, and hear. • Use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. • Be sitting, driving in the vehicle. • Be standing on feet when not in the vehicle, in addition to walking back and forth. • Lift and/or move, but not limited to, 80 pounds. Lifting while turning side to side is frequently necessary. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
